Call for Student Entries! 

ASID VA and IIDA VA/WV invite you to enter your design projects in the annual IDEAs! Entries are judged by a panel of professionals who represent all aspects of the design community.

Winning projects will be presented at the Design Awards Gala in Richmond in October 2026.

Awards are open to students at any level. 

How to Enter:

Award submissions will be completed and submitted in the online portal. 

1. Click the green "Register" button, which will prompt you to create an account.
2. From there, select and purchase an entry for each category and submission you plan to enter.
3. After purchase, provide the requested information in each entry portal. 

To enter, please share the details of one of your favorite projects:

• The final document may contain as many pages as you like but should be combined into one (1) PDF file not exceeding 5 MB. 
• In your submission, sell us on why your project is award worthy!
  • Visuals might include a floor plan, hand or digital renderings, elevations, materials and furniture selections, quick sketches, lighting plans etc. 
• Submissions must include a concept statement with key highlights applicable to your project.
  • This may include evidence based design research, sustainability aspects, ADA Accessibility,  health/wellness, project objectives, challenges, key design solutions and applications, space planning theories, etc. 
• DO NOT include any personal or school information in your submission (failure to do so will result in disqualification!)

Fees

• Free for IIDA or ASID Student members, $30 for non-members

Winner Promotion:

• All winners, Gold and Silver winners, will be featured in an article produced by IIDA and ASID highlighting the projects and students. 
• The Gold winner will receive a one on one portfolio and resume review with a professional from Hanbury, and their credentials shared with other industry professionals.
